‘Snooze’ appeared on SZA’s 2022 album ‘SOS’, which was followed by an ‘SOS’ deluxe edition titled ‘Lana’ which she described as a “whole ‘nother album” featuring seven-10 songs, one of which being an alternate version of ‘Snooze’, which strips back the original’s instrumentation and saw Bieber on vocals.
After alternating who sang the chorus, the ‘Baby’ hitmaker kissed SZA on the hand and danced throughout the rest of the track with her. It marks a rare onstage appearance from Bieber, whose performance alongside the ‘Lana‘ artist comes at a fraught time for him personally.
The pop star recently lost his grandfather, hit back at what he has called “gossip” and “lies” about his private life, and was forced to deny reports that he is in financial distress and “more than $20million” in debt, calling them “ill-informed” and “clickbait stupidity”.

JUSTIN BIEBER SINGING ON STAGE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2 YEARS WITH SZA pic.twitter.com/ANsDYR9Wdi

Speculation that the singer may be having financial difficulties emerged after The Hollywood Reporter (THR) claimed he was allegedly “more than $20million” in debt. The publication reported that sources told them the debt came from Bieber’s failure to fulfil his contractual obligation to tour promoter AEG, after he cancelled his ‘Justice’ world tour in 2023.
The tour was cancelled due to health reasons just four months after it began, after Bieber revealed his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome in June 2022, which had temporarily paralysed the right side of his face.
As well as speculation about his well-being, there have also been rumours that Bieber is back in the studio and planning a major comeback soon. These were heightened when Mk.gee revealed that he had been working with the singer on new material late last year.
More recently, Bieber was forced to address speculation he was one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ alleged victims amid the rap mogul’s ongoing sex trafficking trial.
Until now, the pop star has remained quiet following the arrest of his former collaborator, who in September was arrested and charged with crimes including sexual trafficking and racketeering.
Representatives for the singer have now released a statement denying claims he was a victim of Diddy. “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,” the spokesperson said in a statement (via People).
Diddy is yet to respond to Bieber’s statement.
