Liam and Noel Gallagher played two dates in the Mexican capital on Friday and Saturday night (September 12 and 13), closing the North American leg of the tour after also playing gigs in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford and Pasadena.

In honour of the occasion, Liam took to the stage at the 65,000-capacity Estadio GNP Seguros stadium wearing a Sombrero, leading fans through the tour’s now familiar setlist.

The band also broke out The Poznan – a staple of their live sets. The celebration – borrowed from their beloved Man City – involves fans facing away from the stage, linking arms with fellow gig-goers and jumping up and down in unison.

“The big man here doesn’t ask for much,” Noel told the crowd, gesturing to his brother. “He doesn’t ask for the hokey cokey or any of that shit, or the Macarena. But for this next song, we’d like everybody to turn around, link arms, jump up and down in time to the music. The world is fucking watching, do not let all the Oasis fans down.”

NME gave Oasis’ historic first comeback concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”

In other news, Noel has opened up about the “great” experience of being back on tour with his brother Liam, saying he had forgotten “how funny” he is.

Elsewhere, Dave Grohl was pictured outside an Oasis gig in LA, appearing to buy bootleg merchandise from a vendor.

Other famous faces in attendance were Paul McCartneyBillie Eilish, and Finneas, as well as Melissa Lim, the woman who inspired Oasis‘ 1995 track ‘Talk Tonight’.
