Warriors Secure Second Straight Victory Behind Curry’s Scoring and Defensive Shifts

Stephen Curry delivered a performance for the young season, leading the Golden State Warriors in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The performance helps the team stabilize their record following the start to the 2026-27 campaign.

Curry’s efficiency was the centerpiece of the Warriors’ offensive attack at Target Center. He finished the night shooting 8-of-13 from three-point range, finding consistent openings against a Timberwolves defense that has traditionally prioritized perimeter pressure. The scoring signals a significant return to form for the veteran guard, whose performance helped the Warriors.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr implemented defensive shifts to tighten the team's rotation.

Defensive Adjustments and Lineup Shifts

The Warriors’ recent performance has been anchored by more than just Curry’s shooting. Following the start of the season, head coach Steve Kerr implemented defensive adjustments and lineup shifts that have tightened the team’s rotation. These changes were evident in the closing minutes, as Golden State managed to play through a late surge from Minnesota. The Warriors’ bench also provided a necessary lift to complement the starting unit.

The Timberwolves were led by Anthony Edwards, who finished with 31 points. Despite Edwards’ production, Minnesota continued to compete through the final frame. The outcome leaves the Timberwolves looking for consistency as they navigate the early Western Conference standings alongside a Golden State team that appears to have found its footing.

The game provides critical momentum for the Warriors as they move through the standings. By playing a road game against a high-caliber opponent, Golden State has demonstrated that their opening week may have been a temporary adjustment period rather than a long-term trend. The team now looks to build on this performance as their chemistry continues to develop with the new roster configuration.
