The tweet came one week after R-Truth had main evented a WWE premium live event with John Cena. Cena is currently on his year long wwe retirement tour. Cena’s current storyline is he is the world champ who is going to ruin wrestling for the ungrateful, bully WWE fans. Canonically, John Cena was Truth’s childhood hero.
The implication being that WWE & TKO decided that Truth’s contract renewal would cost them too much since he was a longtime employee. Gone are the days when a wrestler would be rewarded with loyalty at the end of their career. WWE has budgets to consider!!!! To say the world was surprised about Truth’s departure would be an understatement. Wrestlers both current and past came out in support of Truth.

The following night Saturday was WWE’s Money in the Bank. One of op’s personal favorite pay per view. At the end of the show, R Truth made his shocking return to WWE to attack John Cena!!
The story that is being reported is that big names on the roster spoke up to higher ups at WWE and called them out for Truth’s release. This was one of the VERY rare situations where WWE realized the error in their ways and made things right with Truth. Fans were also upset with Truth’s release.
