It’s well known that Serena Williams deeply cherishes motherhood with Olympia and Adira. She actively engages in their lives, from dressing up to teaching Gumbo. These moments are precious, like ring toss games with Olympia’s enthusiastic “C’mon!” cheer. Serena finds immense joy watching her daughters grow. She once said, “Watching them grow and discover who they are is incredible. They bring so much life, joy, and excitement to everything, and seeing the world through their eyes makes each moment feel truly meaningful.” Her hands-on love continues even when she models for their creativity.
On Thursday, Serena shared a perfect glimpse of how she spends time with her two girls in a fun, creative makeup session. In a reel she posted, captioned, “Look at my girls!!!!! THE way @adiraohanian handles that sponge though! Shes not even 2 yet! I have loved makeup my entire life. It started young for me and my girls are following my path… now if I could just get them to pick up a tennis racket….
@olympiaohanian @wyn,” Serena showed her youngest daughter Adira confidently handling a makeup sponge. Meanwhile, older Olympia practiced on a mannequin head, narrating her steps.
The daughters are at different stages- one growing into her aspirations, the other still playful and learning. In the video, almost 2-year-old Adira sat in front of Serena, applying makeup to her face. Serena introduced her as her “makeup artist,” despite the caked-on look as the toddler applied random products. Meanwhile, 7-year-old Olympia practiced her skills on a mannequin, saying, “Perfect, now let’s add some ELF blush. Perfect.” Both girls clearly put their observation skills to the test.
Serena motivated Olympia by asking, “How long have you been doing makeup?” Olympia replied, “Since I was three… or two.” When Serena asked, “Why did you start doing makeup?” Olympia answered, “Because I want to become like Mommy.” This heartfelt exchange was an ode to Serena’s brand, Wyn Beauty, and her glamorous years of photoshoots and events. Olympia already has a lineup of sports interests- gymnastics, tennis, and golf- the latter praised by her father Alexis Ohanian during weekend sessions. Now, makeup seems to have made the cut too!
Meanwhile, Adira is still learning. Serena guided her through contouring: “Now you’re going to do some contouring? Uh oh… watch those fingers! So this one you just pat, pat, pat, pat.” For a toddler, Adira followed instructions well!
This intimate family moment showcased Serena Williams’s nurturing spirit. She blended her passion for beauty with quality time spent with her daughters-filled with love, laughter, and learning. Just earlier this year, in March, she was teaching Olympia how to make the famous Gumbo recipe.
In the video, Serena chopped onions and sausages while Olympia helped with prep work, stirring a pot and asking if she could taste the sauce. The moment highlighted their special bond as they cooked this mouthwatering meal together and served it over rice. For Adira, lessons are still playful and light, with Serena encouraging her in multilingual ways, like speaking to her in French!
But speaking of style, it’s not new to the Williams-Ohanian family. Aside from their matching outfits at Taylor Swift concerts, Serena recently showcased her latest business move alongside Adira and Olympia- a collaboration with Janie and Jack. After which her seven-year-old took fashion a little more seriously!
Serena shows pride in Olympia’s creative side in fashion!
On March 21, Serena posted a carousel on Instagram showing off a white T-shirt, captioned, “Bet you did not know @olympiaohanian designed my shirt.” On the front, it reads, “Greatest mama of all time” in what looks like Olympia’s handwriting. And the back? It says, “Mama, you are my best friend je t’aime Olympia.” Sweet and simple, but totally heartwarming.
This shirt is part of Serena’s limited-edition collaboration with children’s brand Janie and Jack, which launched online and in stores on March 12, 2025. The collection draws inspiration from Serena’s close bond with her daughters, Olympia, 7, and Adira, 18 months, whom she shares with husband Alexis Ohanian. The girls even star in the campaign! Serena told Parents Magazine, “Whether we’re choosing outfits together, coordinating looks, or letting my girls get creative with their clothes, it’s all about enjoying the process and feeling happy in what they wear.”
Designing a children’s collection for the first time came with its challenges, but Olympia was a natural collaborator. Serena said, “Olympia has been picking out her own outfits since she was little, so of course, she had opinions. She was hands-on with color and pattern choices, and luckily, we were on the same page with our favorites.” It’s no surprise Olympia has always had a strong sense of style. “She loves putting together her own outfits, mixing colors and patterns, and even adding her own creative touches.”
With Olympia’s fashion passion and the girls’ recent makeup adventures, it’s clear these two are destined for big things. For now, Serena is soaking in every moment with them. What do you think? Are we watching the rise of future style icons? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
