Victoria Beckham has announced that her much-hyped Netflix series will be coming in less than a month’s time.

Following the huge success of David Beckham’s four-part docuseries in 2023, it was later announced that his famous wife would be getting the chance to tell her own story on the streaming giant.

The resulting documentary – which is to be titled simply Victoria Beckham – will premiere on Thursday 9 October, with Netflix also releasing a new poster on Wednesday afternoon, depicting the former Spice Girls star in close-up.

The three-parter was helmed by Nadia Hallgren, who previously helmed the Michelle Obama documentary Becoming, and produced by the same team behind David’s series.

Netflix said on its companion outlet Tudum: “The series traces Beckham’s story from her formative years and rise to unprecedented success with the Spice Girls, through her high-profile relationship with football legend David Beckham, to her relentless work to establish herself in the cutthroat world of haute couture.

“Following her journey as she prepares for her most ambitious runway show yet at Paris Fashion Week, the docuseries weaves together past and present to reveal the challenges and triumphs that have defined her – and continue to drive her forward.”

The series will feature interviews with Victoria herself as well as “those closest to her” and “leading figures in fashion”, helping to create a “rare, nuanced portrait of a woman who has continually reinvented herself in the public eye”.

Meanwhile, the doc was in the headlines earlier this week, when it was reported that Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham would be appearing in his mum’s series, despite his apparent estrangement from the rest of the family, as his appearance was filmed last year.

Last year it was also revealed that Netflix was creating more series based around the lives of prominent British pop culture figures, including Gordon Ramsay and Take That, following the success of David Beckham and Robbie Williams’ documentaries.
