US Navy’s USS George Washington visits Vietnam for 1st time

The U.S. Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington arrived in Vietnam on Thursday, marking the beginning of its first goodwill visit to the central coastal city of Da Nang. The carrier, named in honor of the first president of the United States, entered Vietnamese territorial waters in the morning after a nearly-two-month deployment from its homeport of Yokosuka, Japan.
