Regarding the ceasefire agreement, he stated: “We just agreed to it a little while ago. Hopefully, President Putin can also agree to it, and we can make progress.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio mentioned he would now present the offer to the Russians, asserting the ball is now in Moscow’s hands.
Zelensky revealed that his team proposed three key conditions: cessation of aerial attacks—halting missile strikes, bombings, and long-range drone assaults; the release of prisoners of war and detainees—both military and civilian; and the return of Ukrainian children who have been forcibly transferred to Russia.

Russian legislator asserts any Ukraine deal will be dictated by Moscow, not Washington
A Russian legislator has stated that any proposed ceasefire or agreement will be on Moscow’s terms, not those of Washington, following the US claim that the ball is in Russia’s court.
“Russia is making advances (in Ukraine), so the situation will differ for Russia,” remarked Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the international affairs committee of the Federation Council, the upper house of Russia’s parliament, in a Telegram post.
“Any agreements—though we understand the need for compromise—must be on our terms, not those of the Americans. This is not bragging but acknowledging that real agreements are being shaped on the front lines, something they should also grasp in Washington.”
