ALL eyes are on Telford as the UK Open Pool Championship is back – but some huge names are through after day one, with Barry Hearn CRASHING OUT early in the tournament.
Barry Hearn OBE, 76, broke the record as the oldest player, but after two defeats his tournament unfortunately came to an end on day one.
British television icon Andy Goldstein got his tournament off to a better start, getting a bye in his his second clash against James Aranas before winning a respectable five racks against Carlo Blasi.
British favourite Jayson Shaw and defending UK Open Pool champion Robbie Capito are also both safely into round three after two victories each.
