The women’s bantamweight division may have had its moments, but right now, the UFC flyweight scene is where the heat is. And right in the middle of it stands perhaps the biggest challenge of Valentina Shevchenko’s late-career run: Alexa Grosso. She is the woman who snapped Shevchenko’s nine-fight win streak, arguably the biggest upset in women’s MMA history, and claimed the UFC flyweight gold in the process. She also became the first Mexican woman to wear UFC gold. But now, a new storm brews.

After defending her title in a rematch that ended in a draw, Grasso lost the trilogy bout to Shevchenko. After defending her title in a rematch that ended in a draw, Grasso lost the trilogy bout to Shevchenko. Now, in a twist no one saw coming, Grasso enters her next fight as the underdog against rising Brazilian sensation Natália Silva. Silva, fresh off the biggest win of her career against Jessica Andrade, is riding a five-fight win streak in the UFC. With serious momentum and fan buzz behind her, Silva enters this matchup as the favorite, and a potential title shot dangles within reach.

Both fighters have too much at stake in the bout, and high stakes bring high expectations. Let’s look at what both Grosso and Silva bring to the Octagon.

Alexa Grasso vs. Natália Silva height, age, and reach comparison

One’s a former champ. The other, a surging contender. This fight feels like a title eliminator and a guaranteed banger. But the tale of the tape tells us more.

Alexa Grasso, 31, walks into this bout with more experience at the top than Silva, who’s 28. At 5’5″, Grasso stands an inch taller than Silva and also holds a one-inch reach advantage — 66 inches to Silva’s 65.

But Silva isn’t sweating that. Her Taekwondo-rooted style, explosive footwork, and unpredictability present a different kind of threat. Yes, Grasso’s boxing is crisp and dangerous, but Silva’s movement and shot selection can nullify the reach game.

If Grasso can push forward with her boxing and relentless pressure, Silva’s dynamic angles and kicking game will be tested. But if Silva controls the range and pace? It’s her fight to lose.

Who weighs more, Alexa Grasso  or Natália Silva?

Both women are seasoned flyweights and veterans of the 125-pound cut. While the weigh-ins loom, there’s speculation that Grasso may walk slightly lighter than Silva during camp, around 135-140 pounds, but nothing’s official.

At her last weigh-in (against Shevchenko), Grasso hit 124.0 lbs (56.2 kg), while Silva came in at 125.5 lbs (56.9 kg) before her win over Andrade. Practically even. Size won’t decide this one, skills will.

And while Silva boasts that striking flair, Grasso’s brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (compared to Silva’s blue belt) could swing the fight if it hits the mat. Grasso’s submission game is sharp and opportunistic.

If Alexa Grosso goes on to win this bout, we can see her solidifying her place as a title contender once again. Her boxing with relentless pressure can surely be the key to her victory. Grosso also has a sharp eye for bringing out submission attempts. But, in a Striker vs Striker fest, Silva’s diversity of striking can be too much for Grosso to take. Silva’s accurate movement and composure can be a huge factor in turning the fight in her favor, putting her on a six-fight win streak, and possibly seeing her compete for the title.

Who takes it – Grasso’s grit or Silva’s style? Sound off in the comments. UFC 315’s gonna be wild.
