Twisted Metal Season 3 Gets Exciting Calypso Update

The finale of Twisted Metal Season 2 has aired, leaving fans with a hope of learning more about Calypso‘s origin in a potential Season 3. Twisted Metal Season 2 debuted on Peacock on July 21, 2025. The series has received largely positive reviews from critics and viewers. The ensemble cast features Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Mike Mitchell, Anthony Carrigan, and more.

Who Calypso is will be explained if Twisted Metal Season 3 is renewed

Twisted Metal showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith recently shared that fans might get to see more of Calypso’s origin if the show gets renewed for Season 3.

In a conversation with The Direct, Smith was asked about Calypso’s origin tease in the Season 2 finale and how much they were meant to show to the audience. To this, Smith replied, “The definite idea is Season 3, we want to dive deeper, for sure… We talked a lot about, Okay, we want to lean into the supernatural this season.”

He further continued, “And when we did that, it was really freeing to be like, Okay, well, what do we want to see? What is one image that would be emblematic of that idea? And the most exciting one was him climbing out of a well.”

He further added how they were selective about how much of Calypso they wanted to show to build more mystery and excitement surrounding the character. Smith said, “We didn’t want to show a lot of it. We just wanted to tease it, because we just want to, like, in the finale, it was really important to say we are 100% confirming there is more to this guy. Because throughout the season, we’re kind of sprinkling it.”

Peacock hasn’t confirmed yet if Twisted Metal will be renewed for Season 3.
