Tukaram Munde, on his side of the matter, stated that choosing whether or not to endorse such products is not just about morality but about its legality as well. Giving more clarity on the regulation, he said,

“There are clearly advertising regulations as per the Food Safety Act. The 2018 regulations talk about advertising, who the advertiser is, and that there is a responsibility very specifically cast upon the person or institution who is advertising.” Munde said, “To say that it is only the producer or a manufacturer is wrong because there are very clear laid down rules and regulations. There is a responsibility cast upon the person to take due diligence about what he or she is endorsing. To say that it is not upon them is wrong. Not only morally, but legally, I’m talking about, because I am here as a regulator.”
