Former President Donald Trump has accused former President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice of converting the agency into the “department of injustice,” describing efforts to turn the U.S. into a “corrupt communist” nation.
“My predecessors transformed this Department of Justice into the Department of Injustice,” Trump stated on Friday during a speech at the Department of Justice. “However, I am here today to announce that those times are behind us and they will never return.”
Since his first term, Trump has repeatedly criticized the Justice Department and the FBI for perceived corruption, amidst numerous investigations and lawsuits against him. The FBI examined Trump’s 2016 campaign regarding alleged collusion with Russia, ultimately finding no evidence that the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia to sway the election outcome.

Recently, Trump has faced legal scrutiny following former Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of former special counsel Jack Smith to investigate Trump’s alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election results and his pursuit of allegedly classified documents at Mar-a-Lago after his first term.
“They aimed to transform America into a corrupt communist and third-world nation, but ultimately, the corrupt failed, and the truth prevailed,” Trump asserted. “Freedom prevailed, justice prevailed, democracy prevailed. Above all, the American people prevailed.”

“There could be no more egregious violation of American principles than weaponizing the law to intimidate the innocent while excusing the guilty,” Trump remarked. “That’s precisely what they have been doing at an unprecedented level. And it is exactly what you have witnessed from Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, and their colleagues over the past four years. What they have destroyed is immeasurable.”

Trump also claimed that the judicial system has colluded with the media, accusing newspapers and television networks of acting as “paid political operatives.”
“This must be unlawful,” Trump stated on Thursday. “It’s manipulating judges… and I believe it cannot be legal. They operate in complete synchronization.”
Moreover, Trump asserted that a “corrupt group of hacks and radicals” within the U.S. government has targeted him and his family, aiming to obstruct his return to the White House. He specifically pointed out individuals like Marc Elias, the former chair of the law firm Perkins Coie.
In April 2016, Perkins Coie engaged the opposition research firm Fusion GPS to investigate then-presidential candidate Trump on behalf of Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee.
Fusion GPS subsequently employed former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, who compiled the infamous “Steele dossier,” containing sensational and largely unverified claims, including allegations that Trump engaged in sexual activities with Russian prostitutes.
The FBI utilized this dossier to obtain a surveillance warrant against former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page as part of its inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Trump has consistently denied the claims outlined in the dossier and enacted an executive order on March 4 to revoke security clearances and federal access from Perkins Coie attorneys.
In response, the law firm filed a motion in a federal court in Washington on Tuesday seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent the Trump administration from revoking its access to federal resources, which U.S. Judge Beryl Howell granted on Wednesday afternoon.
“It’s ridiculous that a billion-dollar law firm is suing to retain its access to government benefits and incentives,” said White House spokesperson Harrison Fields in a Wednesday evening statement to Fox News Digital.
