Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend awkwardly dodges Taylor Swift engagement question

Kayla Nicole expertly evaded any talk of ex-boyfriend Travis Kelce’s engagement to Taylor Swift as she celebrated New York Fashion Week.

The sports reporter previously dated the Kansas City Chiefs athlete for five years before they split in 2022 – the tight end moved on with the Cruel Summer singer the following year.

In the wake of their split, the 33-year-old has kept tight-lipped over his blossoming new romance – something that continued when she faced questions about their upcoming wedding on Thursday.

She looked incredible as she rocked up to a House of Champion event in Manhattan, opting for an unbuttoned blue pin-stripe shirt, dark jeans and a burgundy tie.

In a red carpet interview with the Daily Mail, the Tribe Therepe creator was asked if she had any comments to make on the news that Travis and Taylor were engaged, and quickly replied: ‘Oh, no, no, no…

‘But I’m really happy to be here at Champion, though! This is a dope party.’

Elsewhere in the chat, Kayla confirmed that she is currently single and open to romance, sharing the qualities she is looking to find in her next partner.

‘I love a very honest man, a man of really great character,’ she said. ‘Someone who likes to have fun.

‘Spontaneous, a great relationship with their family, has really good girlfriends.

‘The list is long.’

Travis previously dated Nicole for around five years after they initially connecting on Instagram, and she was a regular fixture at his NFL games before they went their separate ways.

He later started dating Taylor in September 2023 and they have since been inseparable.

Just last month, the couple announced that they were engaged in a joint Instagram post, which racked up more than 36million likes at the time of writing.

‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,’ they captioned the floral photoshoot.

Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, later lifted the lid on the ridiculously romantic moment, telling ABC News: ‘He got her out there, they were about to go to dinner, and he said, “Let’s go out and have a glass of wine…”

‘They got out there, and that’s when he asked her. It was beautiful.

‘They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.’
