Neo-Westerns take elements from the classic Western genre, like character types and storylines, and put them in a modern setting. The Western genre is more influential than it might first appear, and many TV shows would not exist without classic Western movies. While Westerns fell out of fashion around the 1960s, a new wave of creativity has inspired the revival of the genre.
