When Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) arrives in Tombstone, he does so not as a lawman aiming to protect the town from the villainous Cowboys, but rather as an entrepreneur hoping to make some real dough in a booming desert town. Wyatt is through with his old life as a marshal, and would much rather live out the rest of his days by getting rich and kicking back. Of course, that means he has to turn a profit first. Well, one thing leads to another, and we know that Wyatt is ultimately thrown into the middle of the horrid conflict between lawmen and outlaws. But before all chaos breaks loose, Wyatt Earp utters an iconic line concerning his desire for a "simpler" life apart from law enforcement, a line that the filmmakers behind Tombstone echoed almost word-for-word from another Western feature, a 1956 movie called The Last Hunt.
