Although it got an uncommonly long theatrical window, Paramount's Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning didn't live up to expectations at the box office. The movie fell drastically short of its break-even point, putting unexpected pressure on the second innings of its run on home video. The Final Reckoning has been performing well on PVOD platforms, but it was recently overtaken on the domestic iTunes charts by yet another box office underperformer: Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The third and final Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of the year, The Fantastic Four wasn't the franchise-saving hit that Disney would've liked it to be either.
