Director Doug Liman has made movies of all shapes and sizes, and over the course of his decades-long career, has developed a reputation for a freewheeling style on set that some have labeled "Limania." While he has certainly made his share of forgettable movies, every once in a while, Liman delivers a movie that garners both positive reviews and audience adulation. He launched a blockbuster franchise with The Bourne Identity nearly 25 years ago, and was one of the foremost voices during the independent movement of the 1990s. Most recently, Liman delivered one of the biggest Prime Video original movies of all time, Road House. But the one movie in his filmography that appears to have resonated the most with audiences is, ironically, the biggest box-office underperformer that he has ever made.
