In Martin McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths, “Seven Psychopaths” is the title of a screenplay being developed by down-on-his-luck writer Marty (Colin Farrell). Marty is miserable. Uninspired, self-pitying, and somewhat in denial about his alcoholism, his relationship with his girlfriend Kaya (Abbie Cornish) is strained by the weight of his lackluster career and dwindling drive.
