Most alien invasion movies play out the exact same way. Some human beings are going about their lives, spaceships arrive, they blow things up, humans fight back, and save the day. The end. That's not always a bad thing, though. There's something satisfying about those alien invasion tropes. However, one recent entry in the genre, 2023's No One Will Save You, starring Kaitlyn Dever, succeeds by being something more. Rather than providing another predictable plot of otherworldly beings, writer and director Brian Duffield shows the monsters, but he's telling a much different and more personal story, which makes No One Will Save You unlike anything else you've ever seen.
