Perhaps it’s too soon to say whether Edgar Berlanga has truly bounced back. After all, he suffered a tough loss to ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Ideally, his next move should have been securing a major fight against a top 168-pound contender. Instead, he faced the relatively unknown Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz. Unsurprisingly, the fight ended exactly as most expected. Despite competing on the undercard, Berlanga now basks in his newfound momentum – perhaps the boost he had been desperately seeking.

F**k Plant.” The crowd erupted with loud cheers, but Caleb Plant saw it as an embarrassment. The former super middleweight titleholder later posted a tweet: “And the crowd goes MILD!!!! Nobody even pitched in on the chant @EdgarBerlangaJr -1000 aura on that one….

Later, as Berlanga walked back from the ring with his team, he spoke to the media in the corridors. Confidently, ‘The Chosen One’ vowed to bring the same fate that befell Gonzalez-Ortiz to Plant, Jaime Munguia, and Jermall Charlo. “I’m on a different level now. Imma do the same thing to Plant, Munguia, Charlo…
