Weeks ago, 9-1-1 executive producer, Tim Minear, teased that — following the death of Peter Krause’s Bobby Nash — the rest of the show’s eighth season wouldn’t so much be about finding the 118 a new captain, but would instead be about the chair being vacant. And, as we saw through last night’s finale, Minear kept his word. The last batch of episodes was all about the grief and the fallout of losing someone you love and view as a mentor, father figure, or just an all-around good human being. But, in the fall, when the series returns for round nine, we can expect the team to move forward with the process of determining a new leader.
