Bad episodes in good shows are never ideal, but they run the risk of ruining thriller shows in particularly detrimental ways. The pacing has to stay snappy, and things have to stay consistent to ensure viewers stay engrossed. If a sitcom or episodic show misses the mark every now and then, it’s not necessarily the end of the world, but with a thriller… okay, still probably not the end of the world, but also definitely not what you want.
