War is a genre that has remained immensely popular since its inception and is arguably one of the oldest in cinema. The genre's standing is likely because there's certainly no shortage of material, considering the thousands upon thousands of conflicts waged by humanity over our existence, so it never really gets dull or runs out of things to say. But with all the films that are constantly coming out every single year that are about war, it's easy for some real diamonds in the rough to fly under the radar.
