If you were anywhere near Twitter over the past few weeks, you’ll know all too well that a Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition look place in New York City.
But this wasn’t any normal lookalike competition – Timothée actually showed up, it was bedlam, people were arrested.
Club Chalamet did not make an appearance because she did not think that Timmy would be there. Chaos, all round.
Naturally, it only makes sense that the good people of Dublin would want to replicate such an ordeal in Smithfield Square in the form of a Paul Mescal lookalike comp.
In today’s silly news, there will be a Paul Mescal lookalike competition held in Smithfield Square this Thursday 7th November at 1pm. The winner of the competition will win the grand prize of either 3 pints or €20 – and bragging rights of course.

The last few weeks have seen a number of posters slung up around the Dublin 7/8 area, detailing that the event will take place this Thursday, November 7th, right ahead of the Irish Gladiator 2 premiere… of which Paul will be in attendance.
The winner will walk away with either three pints, or €20 plus “bragging rights” – so you know, all to play for.
The lookalike comp is expected to kick off around 1pm, so it remains unclear as to whether Paul will be hanging around the square that early, but look, we can hope.
“paul mescal lookalike competition” literally every man in ireland looks like that

If you’re hoping to take part in the elusive competition, you’ll need to brave the cold, don your best GAA shorts, and dust off your Connell’s Gold Chain.
It would also be worth popping a pair of wired headphones in, going for a run, and having a cute pop girl by your side.
We don’t make the rules.
