“Crazy, it’s 10 years since The Witcher 3 released on May 18th 2015. A game that set a new standard for open world, story driven games. Still remains one of my all time favourites,” one fan wrote. “From the opening hours seeing that first sunset on Velen, to seeing Yennefer for the very first time ingame, to getting to the Fields of Ard Skellige and hearing that ethereal track, the battle of Kaer Morhen & the finale, this game changed my life. Every moment is precious,” added another.
“Ten years since the game that literally altered the trajectory of my life. Witcher 3 was the first game that showed me the potential of storytelling in video games and made me want to become a game writer. I have too many fond memories to count,” said a third fan.

Last week, developers CD Projekt Red celebrated ten years of The Witcher 3 by attending an early preview of the upcoming anniversary tour. “We shed our portion of tears as we enjoyed the music and we hope you’ll have a great time at the public concerts too,” they wrote on X.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt global anniversary concert tour will feature “an innovative blend of cutting-edge visuals and gameplay alongside the original soundtrack”. The show will visit Europe later this year while a full US run will take place early in 2026. For full dates and tickets, head here.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt neatly wrapped up the adventures of Geralt but his adopted daughter Ciri will take a starring role in The Witcher 4. Fans were given their first proper look at the long-awaited sequel last year with a six-minute trailer. “It marks the beginning of a new saga with Ciri as a protagonist, embarking on her own journey to become a professional monster slayer,” said developers. Earlier this year, they confirmed the long-awaited sequel would not be released before 2027.
In other news, Nintendo has confirmed a number of Switch games will be getting a free upgrade to take advantage of the bigger, more powerful Switch 2.
