The Whole Shrek Series Is Finally Available on Netflix, but Everyone’s Watching the Worst One

For a series built on the idea of mocking Disney and its dependence on stuffy, old fairy tales, the Shrekseries has remarkable longevity. Who knew that the story of a brash, bug-eating, and mud-bathing ogre and his overly chatty donkey pal would have genuine generational appeal — to the extent that DreamWorks is making a fifth movie nearly 20 years after the last one? The whole series (including the spin-offs Puss in Bootsand Puss in Boots: The Last Wish) is now on Netflix, but there’s a problem: Everyone’s watching the worst one.
