Across its original 11-season run on AMC, The Walking Dead left a lot of bodies in its wake. Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his fellow survivors lost plenty of friends and allies along their journey in the post-apocalypse, many of whom left wounds behind that stayed with the characters until the show's end. Among the most shocking at the time was the sudden death of Emily Kinney's Beth after a hostage exchange at Grady Memorial Hospital goes wrong and she's shot in the head. It hit hard because of how avoidable it felt and how much her loss affected everyone, including Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), the latter of whom she had helped to start actually living again rather than just surviving.
