While you may not know director Reed Moranoby name, she has made quite a name for herself in film and television, particularly on the indie circuit. Her most notable work is perhaps the first three episodes of Hulu's acclaimed series, The Handmaid's Tale, which Morano directed, but she also has three feature films under her belt, establishing her voice as a filmmaker interested in capturing the melancholic beauty of her subjects. Morano's character studies, 2015's Meadowland and 2018's I Think We're Alone Now, feature gorgeous cinematography (Morano also has an extensive background as a cinematographer, serving as Director of Photographer on her first two features) and captivating performances, but it was with her 2020 action thriller, The Rhythm Section, that Morano had her Hollywood breakout.
