The Sopranos & Nurse Jackie’s Edie Falco Finds Next Big TV Show After Avatar Role

Acclaimed TV icon Edie Falco is set to return to small-screen drama, and this time she is stepping into the courtroom. The veteran actress played General Frances Ardmore in Avatar: Fire and Ash and its predecessor.

Falco will headline Fox’s upcoming legal drama series, according to The Wrap. The series currently has the working title of Katie Greaves. The Avatar star will play the titular role, a former New Hampshire public defender who stepped away from the job after a personal tragedy.

She now lives a normal life raising her two young granddaughters with her husband. However, she is pulled back into the work that once defined her. According to the character description, “each case tests Katie’s instincts, wit, and deeply held belief that everyone deserves a second chance … and someone to fight for them.”

The show comes from executive producer and showrunner Sharr White alongside Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.
