The Lord of the Rings fans have a lot to be excited about right now, including the franchise’s return to the big screen in live-action next year with The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. Andy Serkis is directing and starring in the film as the titular character, and the first images from the set were released not long ago, teasing a beautiful return to Middle-earth akin to Peter Jackson’s original trilogy. The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum is releasing in theaters on December 17, 2027, the same day as Avengers: Secret Wars. Warhorse Studios, the same developer behind the critically acclaimed Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, is also developing a new open-world RPG that will allow players to freely explore Middle-earth, but details about the project are being kept under wraps at this time.
