‘The Odyssey’ Is Officially One of the Biggest R-Rated Movies in Box Office History

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day delivering a record-breaking debut at the box office this past weekend, let’s not forget that Christopher Nolan’s holdover hit, The Odyssey, grossed more than $100 million worldwide in its third frame. In doing so, the movie inched closer to the coveted $1 billion mark at the global box office. The Odyssey is set to become Nolan’s third film to hit the $1 billion milestone, after The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan’s 2023 blockbuster, the epic biographical thriller Oppenheimer, fell tragically short of the milestone, ending its global run with $975 million. Having exceeded expectations so far and braved the onslaught of Spider-Man: Brand New Day this past weekend, The Odyssey is on track to overtake Nolan’s second and third Batman movies to become his highest-grossing hit at the global box office.
