The Mandalorian & Grogu: Katee Sackhoff on if Bo-Katan Will Return

Having last donned the mantle of Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian Season 3, actress Katee Sackhoff has come out to shed light on whether she will return to her Star Wars role anytime soon. After Disney decided to pivot to a feature-length film called The Mandalorian & Grogu instead of opting for a fourth season in the Mandalorian franchise, updates regarding the fate of Sackhoff’s character have come few and far between. However, per the Battlestar Galactica star’s latest statements, fans can expect to see her reprise her Star Wars role sooner rather than later.

Katee Sackhoff says Bo-Katan will return, but is it in The Mandalorian & Grogu?

In a recent discussion, the Another Life actress spoke about the chances of returning as Bo-Katan in upcoming Star Wars projects. While she shied away from giving away any details about her proposed involvement in 2026’s The Mandalorian & Grogu, she did confirm that the House Kryze princess will come back in some form or another.

While talking to ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley, Katee Sackhoff shared insight into Bo-Katan’s much-awaited return to the screens. She noted, “You will see her again in some form. That’s all you need to know.” Sackhoff then joked about how her return in Star Wars is inevitable, as her character shares a connection with the wife of Dave Filoni, the chief creative officer of Lucasfilm. “Dave Filoni cannot get rid of me, because Bo-Katan is based off of his wife, so I’ve got some job security,” she stated in a jestful manner.

The 45-year-old actress had previously noted that she hadn’t received the opportunity to put on Bo-Katan’s armor in 2025. However, with The Mandalorian & Grogu wrapping up production in December 2024, many have speculated that Katee Sackhoff could be playing coy about Bo-Katan’s supposed return in the Jon Favreau-helmed film.

Regardless, neither Disney nor Lucasfilm has shared any official word on the topic as of yet. Starring Pedro Pascal, Jeremy Allen White, Jonny Coyne, and Sigourney Weaver, among others, The Mandalorian & Grogu is currently on track to hit theatres on May 22, 2026.
