The narrative follows Laura, a successful woman who lives an idyllic life with her husband, Howard, and their beloved son, Daniel. In the end, Cherry, who was led by Laura to believe Daniel died, catches the latter two at a restaurant. Daniel and Cherry get back together, and the former cuts ties with his mother after learning she had schemed to separate him from the latter.

Cherry retaliates against Laura’s deception by destroying her art gallery. Subsequently, police show up to arrest the former at her and Daniel’s engagement party, where Laura showed up uninvited.

Around this time, Laura had visited Cherry’s mother, Tracey, and recorded a confession from the latter. In it, Tracey revealed Cherry’s true manipulative nature and how she would stop at nothing to get what she wants. Tracey also disclosed how Cherry got rid of her past boyfriends after she lost interest in them.

Laura later meets with and drugs Daniel. She tries to get him to listen to the recording revealing the truth about Cherry. Unfortunately, Cherry arrives and, seeing Daniel drugged, tries to escape with him. Laura stops her, and a violent fight breaks out between the two.

Laura tries to drown Cherry but is stopped by Daniel, who buys time for the latter to escape by holding his mother’s head in the water. Unfortunately, Daniel — not realizing his strength — accidentally drowns Laura, despite Cherry yelling to let her go.

A year later, Daniel and Cherry are married, and she is pregnant with his child. One day, the former finds the recording his mother tried to tell him about and learns about the latter’s true nature.
