San Diego Comic-Con may be over for another year, but across North America, there are still events for pop-culture lovers of all kinds to gather together, embrace community, and celebrate their passions. This weekend, for instance, the geek capital of the United States will be in Roanoke, Virginia. Big Lick Comic Con is returning to the Berglund Center for "two days of fandom and friends," celebrating comic book culture, film appreciation, and all forms of entertainment under one roof. Founded by J.D. Sutphin, the convention has been a source of positivity on the East Coast, and in its ninth year, it's going bigger than ever in terms of activities, guests, and panels.
