The Bestselling Books of the Week, According to All the Lists

This week’s bestselling books roundup is packed full of titles appearing here for the first time! We have a collection of political books, including The Counterrevolution: The Fall and Rise of Donald Trump and the Maga Movement by Victor Davis Hanson, How to Eat an Elephant: One Voter at a Time by Sarah Longwell, and American Scoundrel: Roy Cohn’s Dark Journey from Joe McCarthy to Donald Trump by Kai Bird with Susan Goldmark.

In fiction, making their debuts are Taipei Story by R. F. Kuang, Burn of the Everflame by Penn Cole, and Pirate Queen by Ariel Lawhon, all by established authors with large readerships. Interestingly, The Pirate Queen is not the only pirate book on the fiction bestseller lists right now: Tempest by Victoria Aveyard, also about a pirate queen, came just short of making this roundup.

After dominating this feature for many months, Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke has dropped down the lists this week, but Theo of Golden by Allen Levi and The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett continue to lead the pack.

This list continues to lack diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some other bestsellers you should know about are The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo (USA Today), The Disappearers by Marlon James (Indie Bestsellers), The True True Story of Raja the Gullible (and His Mother) by Rabih Alameddine (Independent Press Bestsellers), and I Deliver Parcels in Beijing by Hu AnYan (Independent Press Bestsellers).
