Dropping Hard Truths: Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) played with the truth on GH, Johnny (Carson Boatman) threw it in his father’s face on DAYS and Li (Naomi Matsuda) almost caused Poppy to choke on it on B&B.

The Best

Beyond The Gates: Bill And Dani Play Games

“My marriage is dead,” announced Dani, insisting she was over Bill’s new marriage to Hayley and was going to start fresh. The Duprees were rightly skeptical, but settled into a fun evening — until Jacob showed up with an arrest warrant because Bill had brought additional charges against Dani for the shooting at the country club. So, the whole family traipsed down to the police station where Dani amusingly posed for her mug shot like a model (an excellent wink to the career she blames Bill for ending).

Enter Bill to taunt Dani; his new bride was not pleased. “We agreed to let this go,” asserted Hayley, who forced Bill to drop the charges. Dani reasoned this was Bill’s way to get her attention back — a theory that got immediate pushback from Dani’s long-suffering mother Anita — and started stalking Bill and Hayley’s honeymoon photos in Italy on social media. Next up? Flirting with the security guard at their new house to get the code so she could break in and judge Bill and Hayley’s taste while drinking their expensive wine straight out of the bottle. Tipsy, Dani lay down on their couch for a “disco nap” just as Bill and Hayley’s limo headed home… Game on!

Days of Our Lives: Johnny Learns The Truth

When Johnny remarked to Roman that it “haunts” EJ that Arnold raped Sami, Roman spit back that EJ did the “same damn thing.” Wha-at? responded his shocked grandson. Roman backpedaled, saying he was sorry he took their conversation in that direction. In came Kate trying to downplay Roman’s comments but Johnny was like a DiMera with a bone. “Start at the beginning,” he demanded.

Kate explained that the beginning was Sami and Lucas encountering a huge storm in the mountains that caused the roof to cave in, pinning Lucas. Sami went for help and found EJ, who agreed to save Lucas’s life if she had sex with him. Johnny looked shocked and said there was no way his dad could do that to his mom. He asked when it happened and Kate hedged that it was before he was born. He wondered why no one told him and Kate said they had made a pact to keep it from Johnny and his twin sister Allie. Suddenly, Johnny put the pieces together and the revelation washed over him. “Oh my God,” he gasped. “My sister was born out of love and I am a product of rape.”

Kate tried to apologize, but Johnny was already out the door. He went straight home and punched his father in the jaw.

General Hospital: Willow and Sasha Have it Out

What are the odds that the nurse assigned to conduct Sasha’s sonogram at the hospital would be the estranged wife of the man who got Sasha pregnant? Pretty good, it turns out. Willow has no idea Michael is the father; she thinks it’s Jason. That prompted her to draw a comparison between her own affair with Michael’s Uncle Drew and Sasha’s assumed affair with Michael’s Uncle Jason.

“You turned on me the second you saw me kissing Michael’s uncle,” accused Willow, “but here you are pregnant by his other uncle.” Sasha would have none of that, reminding her former friend that she was single when she got pregnant and honing in on what she thinks is really bothering Willow: She blew up her life and family over a “sleaze.” Willow lashed out, saying Sasha got pregnant out of pure greed while wealthy Jason was mourning Sam, adding, “This baby might have been the best con you ever pulled.” At least Sasha didn’t break any marriage vows, she retorted. Give it time, snarked Willow as she stormed out.

Fortunately, another nurse was available to conduct the sonogram. Sasha’s baby — who will be a half-brother or sister to Willow’s children — is healthy.

Bold and Beautiful: Li Attacks Poppy

“Something happened between Poppy and me,” began Finn, who dreaded having to come clean to his adoptive mother that he slept with her sister when he was a teenager. He explained that they became close when Poppy lived with them and one night things took a turn. Li was outraged, saying Poppy took advantage of Finn, but she could tell something worse was coming…

“Luna is my daughter,” admitted Finn. Li didn’t believe it, saying it was another one of Poppy lies. Finn said he confirmed it with a blood sample and wait, there’s more: Convicted murderer Luna is out of prison and living at Bill’s house. Finn headed over to Bill’s while Li summoned Poppy to her office. She cornered her sister, saying she’s always known Poppy had no morals but getting pregnant with her nephew’s child was disgusting. “You created a monster,” shrieked Li. “I can barely stand to watch you breathe!”

In fact, she couldn’t. Li wrapped her hands around Poppy’s neck and choked her.

The Worst

GH: Drew Needs A Recall

Every show needs villains, and GH has crafted Drew into a very credible baddie. As a Quartermaine, he has uncommon access to money and power which he wields to his advantage — but his hasty election to congress defies logic. Drew is not serving the people of Port Charles by picking a fight over the location of the Q crypt, he’s just punishing Tracy. And perhaps the local “sports initiative” Drew is spearheading will indeed serve children with cancer at the hospital, but the purpose of his involvement is to rehabilitate his public image with help from G.H. honcho Portia who he is blackmailing into doing it.

The problem with this story is that Drew got elected to a real office which necessitates going back and forth to Washington, D.C. for real votes. Congress is in the news every day (!) so it was jarring to see Drew bring flowers to Willow at the nurses’ desk in Port Charles on the same day congress was voting on the government shutdown in D.C.

For this arc to be even remotely believable, Drew needs to either start doing his job or lose it. Perhaps Tracy could lead the recall?!

BTG: Give Back That Award, Nicole

The beautiful people of Fairmont Crest got all dolled up to watch Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson receive the distinguished service award for her work in psychiatry, but did she really deserve it? She won’t listen to her daughter Kat’s warnings about Eva, she is repeatedly smoked by Dani’s mental health issues, and Leslie manipulated her into thinking she was suicidal on the roof and then bamboozled Nicole at the awards dinner while waiting on her (using the fake name Sherry).

Worse, Nicole’s husband Ted shares a sordid past and apparently a daughter with Leslie. Nicole knows none of that. She unwittingly hired that daughter, Eva, to organize the evening that honored her, giving Ted and Leslie the chance to exchange threats right out in the open by the bar. Ted then lied to Nicole about the encounter (saying he got a call about a patient) and ordered Leslie to leave his wife alone, saying he will “destroy” her if she doesn’t. “Why Teddy Bear,” cooed Leslie with an evil laugh, “you need to consult a therapist!”

Too bad the one he lives with is so clueless.
