There is no shortage of detective shows on television, especially in the UK, where it seems every other town is home to a string of curious murders and a budding investigator willing to solve them. But murder mystery shows are big in the States too, and between so-called 'cozy crime' and hardened detective thrillers on both sides of the Atlantic, it's a wonder that TV writers haven't yet run out of ways to have characters murdered.
