‘The Accountant 2’ Races Past Jason Statham’s 41% Rotten Tomatoes Sci-Fi Thriller at Global Box Office

Although The Accountant 2 still falls well behind the original by all metrics at the box office, the film recently found new life during its third weekend in theaters. The action sequel led by Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal scored another $6 million at the domestic box office this weekend, only a 36% drop after previously falling 61% after opening weekend. At the time of writing, The Accountant 2 has grossed $50.8 million at the domestic box office and $25.1 million internationally for a worldwide total of $76 million. While not record-shattering numbers, this $76 million total is enough to pass Death Race, the 2008 sci-fi thriller starring Jason Statham. Death Race finished its box office run with $36 million coming from domestic and international markets, leading to its amassing $72 million globally.
