In horror, it’s a truly terrible yet amazing feat to be deemed one of the “worst” films. The reason is that a significant number of horror movies have achieved immortal cult status as “so bad they’re good” classics. Typically, these films are more than just a little self-aware, with tongue-in-cheek humor to spare, like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Black Sheep, Birdemic: Shock and Terror, and Jack Frost. Then there are the horrors where the filmmakers do not necessarily appear to be in on the joke, where they were actually (if lamely) striving to scare their audiences, such as Basket Case, The Swarm, and Plan 9 From Outer Space — yet these films are highly enjoyable because of how unintentionally humorous they are. And then, there is a cruddy crop of movies that are so bad that they’re just BAD…
