There’s no denying that crime movies are wildly entertaining, but they don’t even come close to a great crime novel. The biggest advantage these books have over the screen is that they can place readers in uncertain situations and immerse them in paranoia. A moment that might last a few seconds in a film can become an entire page of doubt. Readers don’t just watch someone solve the mystery.
