There's no doubt that Doctor Who's revival golden era is widely considered to be the run of the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, between Christmas 2005 and New Year's Day 2010. With the show hit by dropping ratings and a disparity in quality compared to years prior, Chris Chibnall's time in charge whimpered to an end, with the BBC looking to former showrunner Russell T. Davies to return and steady the ship. In doing so, Davies called upon his trusted wildcard in Tennant to return as a newer incarnation of The Doctor, which resulted in three 60th anniversary specials and the eventual arrival of the current incarnation of the titular Time Lord, Ncuti Gatwa.
