TGS Trailer Shows What’s New in Dragon Quest I and II HD-2D Remake

Square Enix shared a new Dragon Quest I and II HD-2D Remake trailer ahead of TGS 2025, and this time the focus is on what’s new in the games. The four minute video starts by looking at the first title. Then, at about one minute into it, we get to see what was added into both the first and second entry. Toward the end, footage includes segments looking at the newly added Princess of Cannock in the second game.

Things in the video begins by showing off Dragon Quest I. The trailer mentions the new characters, dungeons, and story elements. It also showed battles aren’t just one versus one anymore. After introducing Sigils, it starts talking about elements added to both games. These Sigils can affect actions in battles, adding new attacks, instead of just being a story item in both. Scrolls appear here and in the first game now, however only certain allies can learn them in the second game. Mini Medals are hidden away in both games too. Dragon Quest II also takes players to the Ocean Floor area for the first time, with a new storyline there. Memories of the World are also on the Ocean Floor. Finally, things wrap up with a look at the Princess of Cannock, who will be a playable ally for the first time.
