Fake AI-edited images showing Taylor Swift as Dorothy in Wicked: For Good have circulated widely on social media. Fans now question whether the pop star will appear in the upcoming sequel.

Taylor Swift is not appearing in Wicked: For Good as Dorothy. However, a fake AI-edited image of the singer as Dorothy has surfaced on the Internet. While Swift is not part of the next Wicked movie, fans will get to see Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo return to the sequel.

Reports claim that Dorothy will also have a bigger role in the upcoming Wicked movie that hits the theaters on November 21. Previously, Dorothy appeared briefly in the first film, walking the Yellow Brick Road.

Director John Chu has teased about Dorothy’s appearance in the next movie. Chu told CinemaBlend, “Well, we definitely did cast Dorothy. You see her in some of our teasers.” He added, “How much of do you see of Dorothy? I’m going to leave people— I can’t confirm or deny how much you see of her.”

Chu added, “I will say that I do think it’s important for, whoever Dorothy is to you, to try to respect that as much as possible. But does The Wizard of Oz and our movie intersect in movie two more than ever? 100%.”

So fans can expect to see Dorothy in the next Wicked movie, but no official cast details reveal that it is going to be Taylor Swift. However, Swifties have previously seen the Grammy-winning singer in a Dorothy-ish style in the “Karma” music video.

With the new fake AI-edited images of Swift as Dorothy surfacing, fans are reminded of her iconic baby doll dress with her hair in pigtails moment. A fan slammed the AI photo and shared the “Karma” snaps, writing, “Why use AI when we literally have these.”

Meanwhile, Swift recently bought back her masters. The singer shared a heartfelt letter with fans, revealing that she has regained the ownership of her first six masters from Shamrock Capital.

For Swifties who were waiting for Reputation (Taylor’s Version), the singer shared an update. The singer has not re-recorded most of the album, but she reassured fans that the “vault tracks” could be released in the future.
