Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness Actor Breaks Silence on ‘Crazy’ Finale Return

An original Lioness cast member broke her silence on the return that left fans stunned after the Season 3 finale. The actress revealed how she reacted to Taylor Sheridan’s call and teased what could come next.

Stephanie Nur opens up on her surprising return in Lioness Season 3 finale

Stephanie Nur recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about her shocking return to Lioness in the Season 3 finale. The actress reprised her role as Aaliyah Amrohi, appearing in the final scene after being absent since Season 1. Nur revealed she initially thought creator Taylor Sheridan was calling her about a different project.

“I just assumed that he was calling me about a different show, because it had been three years,” Nur told EW. “And then when he called me about coming back, I was floored. I screamed, and I had to apologize on the phone.” She added that she consumes the show as a spectator and could not believe the news.

In the finale, Aaliyah resurfaces in a Qatar mansion and orders another attempt to capture Joe (Zoe Saldaña). Her line “third time’s the charm” closes out the third season. Nur explained she approached the character differently this time around.

“Betrayal does something to somebody, and it can change a very innocent, naive person into somebody who has a thick skin,” she said. Nur also shared that she creates walks for her characters. She noted Aaliyah now carries herself differently after everything she endured in Season 1.

Fans have speculated about whether Aaliyah still harbors feelings for Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira). Nur addressed the dynamic between love and revenge carefully. “There’s a very thin line between love and hate,” she said. She also confirmed she has not yet reconnected with De Oliveira since filming.

Looking ahead, Nur expressed excitement about a potential Season 4. She revealed she has been having dreams as Aaliyah since Season 1 wrapped. “I’ve had a lot of different things I can imagine and would love to happen,” she said. However, she deferred to Sheridan’s vision for the character’s future. The show has not yet been officially renewed.
