Nintendo’s history with Super Mario on the Nintendo Switch began on an impossibly high note that it’s been chasing ever since, without actually pulling the trigger on a sequel. That’s not to say there have been no other stellar Super Mario Nintendo Switch games, though, such as Super Mario Maker 2, Bowser’s Fury, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder have all been well-received and beloved, and Donkey Kong Bananza was, in many ways, the spiritual Super Mario Odyssey sequel many fans had been anticipating.
