“An epic tale of sci-fi horror” is declared on the front of the pitch deck for Stranger Things, or what was originally titled Montauk. To get a show bought and developed, a pitch deck is a visual document to be accessible when learning the plot of the season, the cast, and the tone. At 23 pages long, Matt and Ross Duffercreated their deck for Montauk to be like a vintage paperback from the 1980s, with a cover and back cover to bookend the pages inside that were given chapter sections to introduce the story to come.
