Acclaimed author Stephen King is in hot water after he "took to Threads last week to hit out at the President and his baseless claim that illegal immigrants from Haiti have been eating domestic pets. 'Why did Donald J. Trump cross the road? To see Haitians eating pets on the other side,' King wrote."
Fans called him out for making a racist joke and even threatened to boycott his works; instead of apologizing, King doubled down: "The joke was about Trump. If you don't get that, you should see a doctor and get your sense of humor checked," he wrote on Threads, adding a photo in a separate post that reads:
"Anyone else notice how all of a sudden no one's eating our cats and dogs anymore? No one's performing sex change operations in schools or aborting babies after birth anymore. The price of eggs doesn't matter and a recession isn't a bad thing, it's just a necessary growing pain."
