Even at 41 (almost 42 by the time the 2025 season comes rolling), there’s still buzz about Aaron Rodgers landing a mammoth contract. Make no mistake—this ain’t Green Bay’s Rodgers. Who knew nothing but accurate passes, TD galore, or even Hail Mary at times. This is a guy who’s still a 4-time NFL MVP but had his troubles with injuries. Actually, injuries are just the tip of the issue Rodgers carries on his back. After his Jets debacle, it’s clear Rodgers is not that guy anymore who can come in and change a franchise’s fortune. Still, NFL sportscaster Rich Eisen believes Rodgers could probably land a huge contract he would have surely gotten in his prime.
On his Rich Eisen show, the NFL insider said something that might seem unrealistic. Eisen thinks, “Aaron Rodgers is gonna start with a four. North of $40M. How about this? Two years, $70M, with incentives that can pop it up more.” Woahhh!! Alright, hold on. What’s Eisen on about? Rodgers—$70M contract—that can even go higher. Sounds pretty absurd, right? But actually, Eisen isn’t the only one who has floated this idea of Rodgers landing a gargantuan contract.
Rich Eisen believes Aaron Rodgers will get a contract North of $40 million: “I think Aaron Rodgers is gonna start with a four. North of $40 million. How about this? Two years, $70 million, with incentives that can pop it up more.” #Steelers #NFL

At the start of the NFL free agency, when Rodgers was not sure whether to retire or continue his career, Mike Florio said something similar. He floated the idea of Rodgers commanding up to $45M per year. While it doesn’t seem like it would happen, the Steelers have since entered talks with Rodgers. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network also added that the Steelers wouldn’t be offering any deal to Rodgers for more than a year. So, will it be them offering such crazy money just to see him leave next year? Well, if it does happen. Questions will surely be raised about the Steelers’ front office.
But the thing is, the Steelers are crying for a vet, someone who is proven and can lead them for a year. And Rodgers checks all those boxes. Who knows, maybe a deal between the Steelers and Rodgers is imminent. However, the chances of Eisen’s prediction coming true are probably too low, even from a joke perspective. While the Steelers might be scratching their heads right now seeing Eisen’s prediction, imagine what they would even say about Maxx Crosby’s prediction.
Maxx Crosby believes Aaron Rodgers ain’t nobodies
For almost a month, the NFL has been wondering about Aaron Rodgers’ next move. In between all the stories that were developing on him. Rodgers dropped a visit to the Steelers’ facility. Met with their top brass for 6 hours but didn’t come out with a deal. And now it’s almost two weeks since that happened. Considering Rodgers’ future is still yet to be sorted. Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby, who once advocated for Rodgers in Vegas, has now shared his thoughts on the 41-year-old’s probable future.
On his The Rush podcast, Crosby predicted, “I think he retires. I think the fact that he’s not with Davante Adams, and he’s not very familiar with Pittsburgh. I don’t know. I think he retires. He’s about 42 now.” Crosby also added that he can’t seem to wrap his head around imagining Rodgers in black and gold. “I don’t see it. I just don’t see that as a thing. I can’t see him in a Pittsburgh uniform. My brain can’t put that together.” See, right now, if not the Steelers, then who?
The Giants have gone ahead and brought two QBs: Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. As for the Vikings, they are happy with JJ McCarthy right now. But haven’t squashed the idea of reaching out to Rodgers if McCarthy doesn’t live up to his expectations. So, will Rodgers really retire because Adams went to the Rams, and he couldn’t? I mean, that would be some deep kind of love we wouldn’t understand. Still, there are just thoughts lingering in the winds of NFL rumors. However, you just never know which one’s gonna true? $70M contract or retirement. What do you think?
