Luke Skywalkerhas had many lightsaber duels in Star Wars, from his early Jedi training to the end of his life. Although Luke received his father's lightsaber in A New Hope, it wasn't until The Empire Strikes Back that he had his first onscreen lightsaber duel. Even so, the Star Wars books and comics had begun giving Luke duels between films, and he has had countless fights in canon and the original Star Wars Expanded Universe, now called "Legends."
